A peek into the life of KeErah Hutchings

Artist Biography: Welcome

ABOUT THE ARTIST

KeErah Hutchings was born and raised in Utah. She is a UVU student and artist working on her Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in printmaking. KeErah has always been interested in creating images and objects. It wasn't until she graduated with her Associate Degree in Anthropology in 2016 that she decided to continue her study of different cultures through art. Then she realized she would rather be studying art professionally and enrolled at Utah Valley University to study Fine Arts. 


KeErah has exhibited her work at local and regional venues including the Eccles Gallery in Salt Lake City as a part of the Rocky Mountain Student Printmaking Exhibition. She received the Marie Eccles Caine student award in the Celebrating Women Vibrant and Equal 2020 show hosted by the American Association of University Women. As a student, her work was exhibited in the Utah Valley University Student Show at the Woodbury Museum. In the Utah Valley University, Student Show of 2021 KeErah received one of the awards for fine arts, in the painting and drawing category. KeErah has also had her work highlighted in magazines such as Warp & Weave and Touchstones.


KeErah has a deep love for printmaking and working with her hands. She combines her knowledge of mythology, anthropology, and nature to give a unique view of her work. When KeErah is not working on printing or drawing she is spending time with her family. She has 3 younger brothers that she adores. She is tremendously thankful for her parents who have supported her through so many large and messy projects.
